ABOUT US

The Space Coast Feline Network is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the humane care and control of the homeless cat population of Brevard County, FL.

Homeless Cats!!!!!  There are thousands of them in this county alone.  They didn't choose to be homeless but they are.  People dump cats every day, either because they can no longer care for them or they just don't want them anymore.  It is not the choice of the cats.  They don't want to have to defend themselves, fight for food or even have to try to find a warm and safe place to live.  People have made that decision for them.  Unfortunately we cannot change what people do, but we can help those homeless cats that have found themselves displaced.  In order to help them we need to minimize reproduction.  The Space Coast Feline Network strives to trap, neuter, vaccinate and release the homeless cats back to their colonies.  We also have a generous volunteers that feed and care for colonies of homeless cats throughout the county.   But, we need your help.  With your support we can become a NO MORE HOMELESS cats county.

The SCFN is run soley by the generous donations of people like you.  Our organization is based soley on volunteers who work tirelessly to care for cat colonies around Brevard County, Florida.  Please take a few moments to explore this website.  Here you will find some wonderful items for sale that generate proceeds for the network.   There are also training classes for TNR and colony management, information about current animal related and network related news, information about upcoming fundraising events and forms for you to donate to the network or volunteer to help.

We currently have openings on the Board of Directors and we are in desperate need of volunteers.  Please be sure to visit our Donations sections and our Volunteering Section of this site.  Thank you for your continued support.

Your generosity will help us continue our efforts to care for the homeless pet population of Brevard County, Florida.  Together we can make a difference for the homeless cats.

Bailey and Professor have crossed to Rainbow Bridge

Bailey was a kitten found dumped at HRMC in Melbourne, Florida.  Bailey spent his first 9 months living with me.  He was FeLV positive and eventually went to live with other FeLV positive cats at our shelter in Mims, Florida.  After a few months a wonderful lady decided to adopt him.  A few months later Bailey became ill due to his FeLV status.  He fought hard but ultimately his body failed him and we made the difficult decision to end his suffering and let him go to rainbow bridge.  He passed on 9/29/07.  Bailey is best know for his hugs and kisses, jumping on your shoulder when you scooped liter boxes, licking you to death, putting his paws around your neck and giving kisses, helping unroll the paper towels....He touched many lives in his short time here on earth and will be remembered for all the love he showered us with.  He will be truly missed.  God speed my little Bailey Boo!

Dexter

A feral handicapped cat which belongs to an SCFN managed colony.  Dexter is currently doing very well and lives on my porch with another cat named Bleu.  Updated 10/7/07.  Bailey loves to play with ping pong balls, run through the yard, chase butterflies and climb his cat tree.  His best friend is Bleu, another feral cat that shares his space.  They are forever buds.  Updated 11/17/07.
