June 15, 2005 Update by Tina: Dexter is doing very well. His stools are not soft so that is great news. Less clean up for Kathleen who has taken Dexter in until I can get my surgery done and back on my feet. Kathleen is taking Dexter to UH every week for Tina and Dr. Burton to anesthetize him and clean his wound out. Apparently Dexter is very spirited now and very much ready to come home but still needs treatments and antibiotics....so for now he remains in care and will continue that for a little longer. I'm working on getting an enclosure set up outside with protection from the environment and to protect him from further danger due to his handicap. He deserves a good life since he fought so hard to live through this and to survive with such a difficult handicap. I have to note that if it wasn't for Tina B. and Dr. Burton this miracle could never have happened. A gigantic thanks to them for using their skills on what most people some vets out there consider just another cat. They are phenomenal in my book and will never be able to repay them! Stay tuned....more to follow. |
