June 9 Update

June 9, 2005 Update by Me (Tami):

Since I am not sure when Shands is going to call and schedule me for surgery, Kathleen has agreed to take Dexter into her care and keep him on oral antibiotics.  He will have to be in a large cage but will do fine because he should be used to that by now.  I will be trying to prepare an area for him to come to when he returns, including a fenced in area of my yard, plenty of foliage to hide in and a 9 1/2 x 13 foot kennel that I had built for him with a roof a few months ago.  I just need to get the fencing up and the plants and some type of flooring and some nice hiding boxes and sleeping boxes built and he should be fine.  The next thing would be to get Puddin and Mocha in there too since they are his buddies.  That is my goal.  I'm just thankful Dexter is still alive.  I sure miss him tremendously and can't wait until he comes home.  He will be getting surgery weekly on his wound and pressure wound on his foot I understand and will get oral antibiotics for at least a month.  Keep your prayers coming for him okay.  We still need you!  Thank you for helping me help Dexter.  He would thank you too but right now I think he just hates anyone that wants to mess with him!  LOL!  Tami
